Overview

           This project aimed the development of Doctoral Study Programs in the field of Geography by cross border cooperation between educational institutions – University of Oradea and University of Debrecen, by creating a Chair for supporting the Doctoral Studies School in Geography from each university. By promoting the cross border cooperation between universities, the project intended to improve the quality of the Doctoral Programs, increasing their European dimension and also the visibility of these programs at the European level. This project anticipated the organization of a Romanian-Hungarian Joint Doctoral Studies School recognized at the European Union level. During the 12 month of the project, the efforts were focused for development of the institutional collaboration frame between the Departments of Geography from the University of Oradea and from the University of Debrecen. The joint cross border Chair offers support for PhD students from the two universities to participate in the project's activities, increasing this way interest and participation to the Doctoral Study Programs and also making them more attractive.
